702 head yarded this week. Export and slaughter cattle met less competition and sold to an easier market for most descriptions. In contrast, heavy kill bulls were in hot demand this week and saw a lift of 10-15c/kg. Heavy feeder steers saw a fall of 10-15c/kg, with brahman and brahman cross steers selling to sub $4/kg. Feeder heifers also met a reduced panel of buyers with most heifers selling around $3.60-$3.80c/kg. Backgrounders and re-stocker steers also took a backwards step this week keeping in line with the heavy feeder market. The biggest decline in the market this week was weaner steers and heifers. The best of the weaner steers reaching $4.30/kg with a lot of quality steers selling to sub $4/kg. Weaner heifers were also back 15-20c/kg.
