The Sarina Combined Agents yarded a total of 400 head comprising of 211 steers, 164 heifers, 22 cows and 3 bulls at Friday's Sarina Prime & Store Sale. There was a very mixed yarding following a very strong and quality driven Battle of the Breeds sale a week prior. The yarding held firm across the board. Not many prime cattle to quote. Heavy kill cows topped at $1,830/hd with majority of the yarding being forward store to store condition. Store cows averaged $1,000/hd with the lowest making $700/hd. There were only a small amount of bulls to quote with the top bull making $1,720. Bullocks made $2,100/hd. The majority of feeder steers contained high shouldered cattle, averaging $1,650/hd. Weaner steers were of a mixed yarding with the tops making $1,380/hd, but sold very firm right to smaller lines. Heavier heifers topped out at $1,7200/hd with most of the heavier end of heifers being of backgrounder weights. Weaner heifers held firm with very light weights seen. Weaner heifers averaged $650/hd.
