Hayes & Co. are seeking a motivated and reliable Merchandise Team Member / Store Person to join our busy, family-owned rural merchandise business.
Located within a busy rural precinct alongside cattle sale yards and country apparel store, this is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, working with people, and being part of the rural industry.

About the Role:
As a Store Person/Sales Assistant, you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in supporting local customers and helping keep daily operations running smoothly.
This role is active and varied, requiring someone who enjoys practical work, continually learning about rural products, and working both independently and within a busy team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing excellent customer service via phone, email and face-to-face interaction
- Loading and unloading goods from both trucks and utes
- Picking, packing and unpacking customer orders
- Assisting with stock control, replenishment and merchandising
- Maintaining store presentation and displays
- Completing deliveries in an MR truck when required
- Supporting smooth day-to-day store operations
- Following workplace safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment
About You:
You are practical, reliable and customer-focused, with a positive attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed.
Ideally You Will Have:
- Strong customer service skills (this is essential)
- Experience with POS systems and retail operations
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a busy team
- Sound computer skills
- Current Forklift Licence (preferred)
- MR Truck Licence (preferred)
- Capability to perform manual handling and physical duties
- Understanding of the rural industry and rural lifestyle
- Passion for rural products and helping customers
- Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
- Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in the following industries would be advantageous:
- Rural merchandise
- Produce or stock feed
- Pet industry
- Agricultural or farming supplies
- Chemical/Chemical handling
Additional Details
- Saturday work required on a rotating roster
- Immediate start available for the right applicant
