Silverdale Liveweight Sale report

Katrina Brennan |

A slightly easier market again this week across the yarding. Cow and bullocks were back 5-10c on last week, although demand for bull meat saw bulls rise 5-10c. Heavy steers and heifers remained similar rates to last week however, the weight in the cattle on hand saw them return good rates. Again, no heavy feeder steers to quote this week as the 100-day job remains tough. Feeder heifers and backgrounder steers were also back 10-15c on the last week. A very good run of weaner steers came to hand this week bringing some extra buyers, resulting in a rise of over 20c on last week’s market for the better quality steers. Weaner heifers saw little to no change.
