This week’s sale saw a total yarding of 841 head, with strong demand evident across all categories with several selling to dearer trends. A total of 180 cows were yarded. Competition was solid, with cows selling to strong and noticeably dearer rates. Full-mouth ox met a firm panel of buyers, selling to consistently strong rates and reflecting ongoing confidence from processors. A very good run of grain-assisted heifers was presented, attracting excellent enquiry. Light feeder steers were highly sought after, with most quality pens selling above $5.00/kg. Weaner and re-stocker cattle met strong competition, with rates remaining very firm to dearer as re-stocker interest continue to drive the market after recent widespread rainfall.
