613 head yarded today. Export and slaughter cattle remained unchanged from last week. Store cows also saw an increase in price with most of the younger forward store cows selling from $2.10 to $2.35/kg. Any store cows back in condition with a bit of age sold from $1 to $1.40/kg, with some cows selling to sub $1/kg. Heavy feeder steers also met a slight cheaper market by 10-15c/kg. Feeder heifers saw some slight strengthening today with a couple of extra buyers in attendance. Not many backgrounder steers yarded today. Quality weaner steers sold to dearer trends as did weaner heifers. Although weaner steers and heifers on the lighter end or lacking quality met a touch market as the dryer weather starts to set in.
