TUESDAY 9TH APRIL 2024 – 544 HEAD

Elders and Hayes & Co came together to yard the first Prime and Store cattle sale for Bowen since 2007. The sale was strongly supported by vendors from Bloomsbury, Ayr, Woodstock and Clermont, as well as many locals. All buyers, both locally and from out of town showed great support for our first cattle sale back.

Bulls

• Bulls topped at $1,100/head & sold on account for NJ and ML Bailey, Bowen.

Cows

• Cows topped at $980/head & sold on account of G and P Grazing, Bowen
• Another good pen of cows on account of P and L Dahl, Pretty Bend Station, made $930/head.

Heifers

• Fat heifers topped at $870/head on account of C and J Gordon, Boundary Creek.
• Feeder heifers from Mount Douglas Pastoral Co, Clermont, sold to top at $650/head.

Younger Heifers

• Droughtmaster heifers on account of R and J Andison, Bowen topped at $720/head.
• Brahman cross heifers on account of W J Walpole, Bowen, made $690/head.
• Droughtmaster heifers on account of BAJ and DR Windsor, Bloomsbury, made $560/head.

Prime Steers

• Prime steers topped at $1180/head on account of Anthony Vernon, Gregory River Proserpine.
• Another good pen of Brangus steers on account of M and J Gordon, Thurso Station, made $1010/head.

Feeder Steers

• Feeder steers topped at $980/head on account of M and J Gordon, Thurso Station.
• Izaak King, Gregory River Proserpine sold another quality pen of steers which made $950/head.
• An additional good pen of steers on account of KJG Squared and Sons, Bowen, made $950/head.

Lighter Steers

• Brangus Steers topped at $810head on account of Crawford Equipment PTY LTD, Majors Creek.
• Droughtmaster Steers on account of R and J Andison, Bowen made $820/head.
• Santa Steers on account of R Plate, Collinsville, made $770/head.
• Brahman Steers on account of Nunbank Pastoral Co, Bowen made $750/head.
