640 head was yarded at Hayes & Co’s Kilcoy Store & Fat Sale – the second biggest Kilcoy sale since its inception in 2024. Another wet rainy day didn’t dampen the attendance with another full row of onlookers and buyers. The market was fully firm to slightly dearer on the previous sale. Feeder cattle were in short supply but sold to strong rates with two new feedlots in attendance.
All backgrounding and weaner cattle sold to stronger rates with new western buyers from Dalby, Meandarra and Injune all competing with local buyers. Processing cattle were stronger for the more conditioned and heavy types with secondary rate cows slightly easier.
