The Sarina Combined Agents Prime & Store Sale on the 30th of January 2026 yarded a total of 348 head for the first sale of the year. The sale comprised of 175 Steers, 108 Heifers, 28 Cows, 20 Cows & Calves and 17 Bulls & Mickeys. The market opened with strong competition from both travelled and local buyers. Prices were reflective of the good quality yarding of cattle with weaner steers topping at $1,400 for well-presented pens. With no heavy feeders yarded, the light feeders/backgrounders sold to strong competition. Heifers saw great improvements compared to the closing of last year with weaner heifers reaching $1,200. Buyers attended from Nebo, Miriam Vale & Rockhampton as well as strong support from local graziers off the back of a strong season.
